breakthisspell:

Snippet from the fic I (shamelessly) sketched out on my phone during school. Rough and unedited and nowhere near finished, even if this is only a section of a portion of it, but I figured I’d post it for the hell of it.

Characters/Pairings: Mako, Katara, Korra/ Makorra

Summary: It’s a long, arduous process for Mako to recover from the loss, and Katara has outlived two Avatars already.

""Even though I’m such a small constellation, thank you for noticing that I’m here." I think that's beautiful. :)"

Haha, thank you! Actually, it’s a line from (a translation of) the anime No. 6’s ending. :D

Glad you like it, though!

Title: Beneath the Rising Moon

Characters/Pairings: Mako, Korra/ Makorra

Word Count: 985

Prompt: Mako, Korra, and something about turtleducks, requested by anonymous.

A loud, wailing squawk fills Korra’s ears. Her head, lolling back and resting on Naga’s flank, jerked up involuntarily as she was brought out of her light sleep by the noise. Korra wasn’t a light sleeper by any means, but the sound, so unlike any animal call that she had ever heard, startled her.

She groaned loudly. “What the hell was that thing?” She asked groggily, partially to Mako, partially to herself as she rubbed her eyes irritably.

A yawn erupted from beside her. She turned her head to see Mako sitting up straight and stretching his arms. She realized with a start that Mako had been sleeping, too, and she had woken him inconsiderately with her question. An apology sat on the tip of her tongue, but she was silenced by the Firebender before she could say anything.

Title: Seven Devils

Characters/Pairings: Mako, Korra/ Mako/Korra

Summary: Unrelated Makorra drabbles, relating to the Seven Deadly Sins.

Notes: It’s still Korrafic Saturday…barely! I made it! Not my best, and I’ve fallen slightly out of touch with this pairing, but I wanted to contribute.

Title: Equal

Characters: Hiroshi Sato, Asami Sato

Notes: Quick drabble written after today’s episode because I can’t get over it. ignore the lack of quality though.

He stands by the grave, where beloved wife will now lie, eternally. His daughter clutches to him by the waist, weeping silently. The tears slide onto his jacket, staining the fabric as the little girl cries for her mother.

She looks up to her father with wet, reddened eyes. “Mom’s not coming back,” she chokes back a sob, “is she?”

Title: Legacy

Characters: Tenzin, Lin

Rating: T (for language)

Word count: 788

Notes: Quick ficlet to pull me through the beginnings of a writer’s block. And teenage Tenzin and Lin is always good, even if I probably completely butchered Lin.

“So do they hurt?” Lin asks for the umpteenth time.

Tenzin takes a deep breath in annoyance, which he realizes is a big mistake as a wave of pain shoots up his spine. Of course the tattoos hurt, he wants to snap. Being punctured with needles for hours on end would cause anyone’s skin to hurt—except maybe the tough, bullheaded girl sitting beside him on his living room couch at the moment.  Maybe.

“Yes,” Tenzin mutters in response, “for the millionth time, they do.”

Title: Records of the Past

Characters: Mako, Bolin

Rating: K+

Word Count: 1,669

Summary: Bolin can’t remember their mother. Mako remembers her all too clearly.

Notes: A quick contribution to fandom for Mother’s Day? Happy Mother’s Day!

Mako swore loudly, pacing back and forth while Bolin looked on. Bolin didn’t know why his brother was so riled up, anyway—they were both safe and fed, and he didn’t even steal anything big, just two rolls of bread, enough to feed the two of them for the night.

He didn’t make a habit of stealing, either. The bread incident was the first time he had ever dared to steal anything, and he hadn’t even gotten caught or put himself in any kind of danger. There was no trouble, no repercussions, and he certainly didn’t plan on doing it frequently.

Bolin frowned at his brother, who was still ranting at him and pacing down the street, his arms making large gesticulations to emphasize the points he made during his monologue, points that were lost on his little brother, who was no longer paying much attention to his words. It wasn’t that he didn’t care—no, he cared far, far too much about how his brother viewed him, about the respect Mako held for him. And even if he was getting his trousers in a twist over something small and inconsequential,  he couldn’t bear to see Mako look down on him for it.

Title: Team Huddle

Characters/Pairings: Bolin, Mako, Korra; slight Mako/Korra

Rating: K+, possibly T

Word Count: 1, 119

Summary: At the end of a long day, Team Avatar finds themselves crashing in an alleyway, huddling for warmth.

__

Panting and gasping for air, the Avatar and her companions stumbled into the alley. They were far away from the band of Equalists that had been pursuing them throughout the night, and were now somewhere on the other side of town, in a side of Republic City that Korra had never seen before. Korra was chilled to the bone, unsure if the sensation was formed by the cold, winter air against her bare arms or how eerie and still the streets around the trio were, with the shabby, discolored concrete tops of the sidewalks mounted in front of rundown buildings, still illuminated from the inside though it had to have been early morning by then. Cabbage cars sat perched on the sides of the street, some parked unevenly with one wheel on the sidewalk, and the mixed scents of stale gasoline, alcohol, and the fresh smell of smoke hung in the heavy air.

Title: On Confusion

Word count: 769

Rating: K+

Summary: Korra’s misadventures in dating aren’t too unfamiliar to her sifu, she learns.

Notes: Meh, not exactly my best, but I couldn’t resist writing a short drabble after watching “The Spirit of Competition” compulsively today and pointing out a parallel or two.
